About Lee J. Howard

“First of all, Lee J, your honesty and integrity is at the forefront of your 'method of operation' ... Another unique ability that I believe you have is your manner of 'listening to your client and responding accordingly to their needs,' both initially and in the way you provide the service which they are seeking.”

-- B. B., CSEP, Experience By Design

"On behalf of the City of Roswell and all the people who have and will so enjoy this years' Riverside Sounds concert series, I thank you for your ongoing support…

“We simply could not produce the concerts we do without your invaluable assistance... We continue to have record crowds every month… thanks as always for your support."

-- G. Morgan Timmis, Historic & Cultural Affairs Manager, City of Roswell, GA

Music is in Lee J. Howard’s genes.
He grew up in a musical household
with parents who met in music school; his mother teaches piano and his
father was a public school music teacher. It’s no wonder that his talent
for playing the piano was evident at an early age.

Lee J. began performing and
composing music professionally while attending Marlboro College, from
which he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz Studies, Composition, and Performance. Original recordings of  his own compositions  – Private Beach and Pure Joy – were subsequently produced.

He created The Lee J. Howard Band in 1988, an in-demand Special Event band that performed events and concerts around Atlanta. In 1995 clients began asking him to also use his knowledge and expertise to consult, book, and produce other entertainment for them.

Since incorporating Lee J. Howard Entertainment in 1997, Lee J., his wife, Valorie, and the rest of the company's team have produced entertainment for over 5,000 events across the U.S. and Canada. They have received numerous Allie Awards, including two for Best Team Effort.

Many have sought Lee J.'s expertise and leadership as an entertainment consultant, producer and provider. He has been quoted in numerous publications, including the Atlanta Business Chronicle and the books, Playing for Pay and Entrepreneur Magazine’s How to Start an Event Planning Service. Since 2001 he has been co-teaching the "Event Management Resources" class as part of the Conference and Meeting Management Certificate Program at the University of Georgia. With ISES (International Special Events Society), he served as a member of the International Executive Committee, Southeast Regional Vice President, and Atlanta Chapter President for two terms during the Atlanta Olympics.

Within his local community of Roswell, GA, Lee J. plays an active role as well.  He has been serving on the Roswell Cultural Arts Board since 2004 and served as Chair from 2010-2013.  In 2013, after several committed years of work laying the foundation, the Mayor and City Council approved the Cultural Arts Board's transition to being the Roswell Arts Commission.

In 2012, he was elected to the Roswell Convention & Visitor's Bureau.  Since 2001, Lee J. Howard Entertainment has sponsored the Riverside Sounds Concerts, the city's annual summer concert series.

From teaching and consulting to producing entertainment and providing leadership, Lee J.’s commitment in all of his activities is to create experiences that open hearts and build relationships.

"Lee J... The support of businesses like yours is absolutely necessary in order for the city to continue to bring valuable programs like this to our community. We can't thank you enough for your sponsorship... This has been one of our best programs!"

-- Jere Wood, Mayor, City of Roswell, GA
