The Short Story
Education & Performance
Lee J's degree is in Jazz Studies, Composition and Performance. He has composed, produced, recorded and performed his own original music. In 1987 he started performing as a pianist for Special Events. Then he and his wife and business partner, Valorie, created The Lee J. Howard Band. Then Lee J. Howard Music and eventually expanded into Lee J. Howard Entertainment.
Curating, Consulting, Booking & Producing
This is how it happened. In 1995, Lee J and his popular Special Event band were booked up and too frequently had to turn away their regular corporate event clients. The clients began asking Lee J and Valorie to use their knowledge and expertise to add the service of consulting, booking and producing other musicians and entertainers. They carefully redesigned and set up the company to be able to provide those services with full integrity. Soon after, they won the Best Themed Entertainment Allie Award for a production enjoyed by the guests at a 1995 CNN World Report event.
