Whether you are a professional event planner or a bride-to-be, or your boss just turned to you and said, “Hey! You’re planning the Holiday party this year!”, you can trust us to provide the perfect entertainment for the shared experience you envision for your event.
Allow us to propose how we can help you achieve your aims for your extraordinary event by crafting the perfect fit of music or other entertainment. It starts with the quality of the questions that we ask you.
You’ll be able to count on us to care about what’s important to you and to be straight with you about what will work and what won’t work. We’ll be bringing creativity, attention to detail and hands-on involvement to your event. We are known for this, and have been for over 30 years.
We are a small shop. We love what we do because we get to choose to work with the clients and event professionals who bring heart and soul to their work. We work with the best of the best local and national artists and production people.
Lee J's degree is in Jazz Studies, Composition and Performance. He has composed, produced, recorded and performed his own original music. In 1987 he started playing piano for Special Events, then he and his wife and business partner, Valorie, created The Lee J. Howard Band. Then Lee J. Howard Music and eventually expanded into Lee J. Howard Entertainment.
This is how it happened. In 1995, Lee J and his popular Special Event band were booked up and too frequently had to turn away their regular corporate event clients. The clients began asking Lee J and Valorie to use their knowledge and expertise to add the service of consulting, booking and producing other musicians and entertainers. They carefully redesigned and set up the company to be able to provide those services with full integrity. Soon after, they won the Best Themed Entertainment Allie Award for a production enjoyed by the guests at a 1995 CNN World Report event.

Join us October 7th for an evening with Southern Avenue!
Southern Avenue is a Memphis street that runs from the easternmost part of the city limits all the way to Soulsville, the original home of Stax Records. Southern Avenue is also the name of a fiery young Memphis quintet that embodies its home city's soul, blues and gospel traditions, while adding a youthful spirit and dynamic energy all their own. "If Memphis music is a genre, this is it!" proclaims American Blues Scene, and Rock 103FM calls Southern Avenue, "The most-talked-about band in Memphis."
